Cancel your subscription
How to cancel
Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription.
You’ll see:
- The exact date your subscription ends (end of the current paid period).
- What will happen to your data (see below).
- An optional feedback field (we read every one).
Confirm, and you’re cancelled.
Timeline after cancellation
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| Immediately | Auto-renewal disabled. You keep full access until the end of the current paid period. |
| End of paid period | Workspace enters read-only state. You can read, search, export - but not send, connect new accounts, or add domains. |
| + 30 days | Message bodies and attachments are permanently deleted. (Enforced by the retention sweep daemon, which ships in v0.6.2 - see the changelog for status. Until then, contact [email protected] for an immediate purge if you need one.) |
| + 90 days | Mailbox metadata is permanently deleted. (Same daemon as above.) |
| + 90 days | Account fully closed, login disabled. Billing records retained per legal requirement (~7 years). |
Custom domains stop receiving new mail at the end of the paid period. The DNS records in your registrar still point at us - you should delete them (or point them elsewhere) before that.
Before you cancel
- Export your mailbox - see Export your data. Takes a few minutes to a few hours depending on mailbox size.
- Note your custom domain DNS records so you can move them to another provider.
- Change MX records on custom domains to your new provider before cancellation end to avoid dropped mail during the transition.
- Download invoices you need for accounting - Settings → Billing → Invoices.
Reactivating within 90 days
If you change your mind during the read-only window, Settings → Billing → Reactivate charges your payment method and flips the workspace back to active. All data is intact.
After the 30-day deletion of bodies (but before the 90-day metadata deletion), reactivation brings back metadata only - bodies and attachments are gone and can’t be recovered.
After 90 days, reactivation isn’t possible; you’d start fresh.
Refund policy
- Annual plans are refundable prorated within 30 days of the most recent renewal.
- Monthly plans are non-refundable but continue through the end of the billing period.
- Exceptional circumstances (extended outage, etc.) are handled case-by-case. Email [email protected].
