Connect your first account
Choose your provider
From the empty inbox, click Add account (or go to Settings → Accounts → Add account). Pick one:
- Gmail / Google Workspace - OAuth, 30 seconds. Web only today - the mobile Gmail OAuth flow is planned. Once you connect Gmail on the web, the account appears on your mobile apps automatically.
- Outlook / Microsoft 365 - IMAP + app password, 2-3 minutes (OAuth planned).
- Yahoo - IMAP + app password, 2-3 minutes (OAuth planned).
- iCloud, Fastmail, or any other IMAP / SMTP provider - 2-3 minutes if you know your server settings. Available on both web and mobile.
OAuth flow (Gmail)
- Click Gmail / Google Workspace. We open Google’s consent screen.
- Sign in as the mailbox owner if you’re not already logged in.
- Review the requested scopes. SuperMail asks only for what’s needed to read, send, and sync mail (see per-provider scope details).
- Accept. We redirect back to the app and start the initial sync in the background.
Gmail is the only provider with OAuth today. Outlook and Yahoo OAuth are planned; for now they go through the IMAP flow below.
IMAP / app-password flow (Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, Fastmail, everything else)
Every non-Gmail provider connects the same way: generate an app password on the provider’s security page, then paste it into SuperMail.
- Click the provider (or pick Other / IMAP for anything not listed).
- Generate an app password on the provider’s security page:
- Outlook: account.microsoft.com/security/app-passwords
- Yahoo: login.yahoo.com/account/security/app-passwords
- iCloud: appleid.apple.com → App-Specific Passwords
- Fastmail: app.fastmail.com/settings/security/tokens
- Enter your full email address and paste the app password.
- For well-known providers we pre-fill IMAP + SMTP server settings. For anything else, fill in the incoming and outgoing server details (usually documented on the provider’s “how to use a third-party mail app” page).
- Click Connect.
2-step verification must be enabled on the provider side before they’ll issue an app password. Turn it on first if it isn’t already.
Initial sync fetches the last 30 days of mail (configurable). A mailbox with 5,000 recent messages usually takes 1-3 minutes to become searchable.
You’re in
Your inbox now shows mail from the account you just added. Add a second (or third, or fifth) the same way. Each account appears in the left sidebar, or in a unified “All inboxes” view.
